Jacaranda trees add to the beauty of Rwanda, with their feathery leaves and small purple flowers. They are also special in that they grow back after being cut.

Artisans use Jacaranda branches to carve these miniature Nativity Huts.

• The Inzira ya Vision (Path of Vision) Cooperative is a group of young adult woodcarvers that began in 2013 to fight poverty, improve quality of life, share their knowledge and experience, and to seek a broader market for their products. What began with six individual wood carvers has now grown to eighteen men. Working with a Fair Trade partner has enabled them to provide for the needs of their families, including purchasing family health insurance, covering the school fees for their children, and investing in livestock (an appreciating asset!).
